JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR UPADHYAY ORAL ORDER 03-06-2020 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State. The petitioner is in custody on remand in this case in connection with Manjhagarh P.S. Case No. 387 of 2018 for the offenses under Sections 385 and 387 of the Indian Penal Code. The allegation against the petitioner is that he has demanded ransom on mobile.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that out of seven cases lodged against the petitioner, the petitioner has been acquitted in five cases and in two cases the petitioner has been granted bail. The petitioner is in custody since 8.2.2019.

Considering the fact that the petitioner has remained in custody since 8.2.2019, the Court is inclined to grant bail to

Let the petitioner, above named, be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gopalganj in connection with Manjhagarh P.S. Case No. 387 of 2018, subject to the condition that on release the petitioner shall render his services as volunteer to combat the pandemic of Covid-19 for a period of two months. He is required to report to the Civil Surgeon/ Nodal Officer, Covid-19, Gopalganj who shall utilize his services appropriately.
