This application is for grant of regular bail in connection with Islampur P.S.Case No.36 of 2017, for the offences punishable under Sections 498A, 341, 342, 323, 504, 307/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Allegation against the petitioner is of demand of dowry and cruelty and further allegation is that he tried to set her fire by tying her feet and hands.

Submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner is in custody for about five months. Heard learned A.P.P. also.

Having heard both sides and in view of the facts and

No.38597 of 2017 (2) dt.19-08-2017 2/2 circumstances, as stated above, at this stage I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, however, the learned trial court is directed to expedite the trial and try to conclude it within a period of four months as the petitioner is in custody since long, and if not concluded, the petitioner is at liberty to renew his prayer for bail bond before the court concerned.

With the aforesaid observation, this application is disposed of.
