1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State.

2. The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Nalanda Mahila P.S. Case No. 56 of 2016 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498A, 402, 406, 323 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

3. The learned APP for the State, at the outset, submits that from perusal of the FIR, it would manifest that the FIR was instituted in the year 2016 and the petitioner approached the learned District Court seeking anticipatory bail in the year 2024 i.e. after eight years of the institution of the

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.20358 of 2024(3) dt.04-07-2024 2/2 instant FIR. The said submission of the learned APP is not rebutted by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner. The learned APP further submits that a person who moves at his leisure should not get protection of the Court.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned APP for the State, the Court is not inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the present anticipatory bail application stands rejected.
