JUSTICE VIKASH JAIN ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE) Date: 23-03-2015 The petitioner initiated a public interest litigation complaining that the high mast lights established at certain places in the districts of Patna, Jehanabad and Arwal are not functioning. He is stated that though he submitted representations, the authorities did not take any step in this regard.

2. Heard Sri Manish Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Mrigendra Kumar, learned Assistant Counsel to Government Advocate No.11 for the State.

3. This Court cannot undertake the supervision of works initiated under different schemes in the State. If the high mast lights

Patna High Court CWJC No.14397 of 2014 dt.23-03-2015 2/2 are not functioning, it is for the local residents or the local agencies to take necessary steps. The petitioner intends to add something to his personality as Right to Information Activist, through this litigation. Further, the purpose he has chosen for this case is to make functional, the high mast lights which are installed at cremation ground.

4. Be that as it may, we dispose of the writ petition directing the concerned respondents, to whom representations are made to take necessary steps to ensure that wherever high mast lights are established, they function properly. There shall be no order as to costs.

5. The interlocutory application, if any, shall stand disposed of.
