03-07-2020 Heard learned counsel for the parties through video conferencing.

The petitioner apprehends his arrest in Dihri Indrapuri P.S. Case No. 360 of 2016 registered for the offence under Sections 506/384 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per prosecution case, on 08-06-2016 in the night, the informant received a call from mobile no. 09891478740, by which, a demand of Rs. 51,000/- was made, as Ransom and on asking his name, he disclosed his name, as Pankaj (petitioner) from Delhi. The informant was also threatened for dire consequences, if ransom is not paid.

It is submitted on behalf of petitioner that petitioner is a daily-wage labour and he is innocent. The petitioner has never demanded any ransom from the informant and is resident of

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.15034 of 2020(2) dt.03-07-2020 2/2 Begusarai and he has no concern with the informant. It is further submitted that petitioner has no criminal antecedent. However, learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits that the mobile number, from which ransom was demanded, is registered in the name of petitioner.

Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances, I am not inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner and as such, the anticipatory bail application stands dismissed.
