1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents.

2. The petitioner has filed the instant application for the following reliefs:

"i. For Setting aside the letter dated 16/01/2026 issued by an order of the office of Directorate, Central Reserve Police Force, under signature of Deputy Inspector General (Recruitment), Central Reserve Police Force, whereby

Patna High Court CWJC No.4530 of 2026(2) dt.31-03-2026 2/3 petitioner's candidature for compassionate appointment has been rejected completely on erroneous ground without any jurisdiction and in arbitrary manner by overlooking the relevant fact and circumstances.

ii. For that after setting aside the letter dated 16/01/2026 the respondent be directed to immediately appoint the petitioner on any appropriate post on compassionate ground as the petitioner has already been qualified the Suitability Assessment Test but has not been appointed yet.

iii. For that after setting aside the letter dated 16/01/2026, the respondents be directed to consider the representation dated 10/01/2026 afresh by considering the material fact put forth by the petitioner.

iv. For any other relief for which the petitioner may be deemed entitled to."

3. At the outset, learned counsel for the respondents raises an objection with respect to the inordinate delay in filing the instant writ application. The petitioner has moved this Court by way of this application for appointment on compassionate ground in the place of his father who died in harness in the year 2000.

4. The death of the employee having taken place on 20.6.2000, the petitioner having filed an application for

Patna High Court CWJC No.4530 of 2026(2) dt.31-03-2026 3/3 appointment on compassionate ground in the year 2018 and the instant writ application in the year 2026, the Court finds merit in the objection raised by the respondents.

5. Having heard the observation of this Court, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw this application.
