Petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b) and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
About two and half kilogram of ganja was allegedly recovered from possession of the petitioner. Petitioner is in custody since 10.07.2017.
Petitioner has stated on oath that he has got no criminal antecedent.
After hearing the parties and considering the aforesaid facts, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail for the present in connection with Special Case No. 16 of 2017 arising out of Jalalgarh Police Station Case No. 81 of 2017
Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.58314 of 2017 (4) dt.26-02-2018 2/2 pending in the court of learned Sessions Judge, Purnea. Hence, prayer for bail is refused.
Let the learned trial court expedite and conclude the trial within a period of nine months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, failing which the petitioner would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail before the court below itself.
