The present writ petition is filed for the following relief(s):- "i) For issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus to command the respondent no.2 for grant of Arms Licence of D.B.B.L gun in the name of petitioner. Subsequently petitioner has applied for Licence on 2711-2024 which is contained in Annexure P/1 series to this writ petition. Its respective Arms Application no. 58979 dated 29-11-2024 which is still pending before Respondent no.2. Neither issued the Letter for hearing nor granted the Arms Licence to petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner has made an application to the Respondent No. 2, i.e., the District Magistrate, Patna seeking arms license for a Double Barrel Breech Loading Gun and the same is pending since the last more than 11 months. Learned counsel submits that after the petitioner made his application, the same was given Application No. 58979 dated 29.11.2024 and the same is pending. Learned counsel seeks a direction from this Hon'ble Court to direct the Respondent No. 2, who is the competent authority, to pass necessary orders on the application made for grant of license by fixing the time frame.

4. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents-State submits that she has no instructions as to whether the application made by the petitioner is still pending or not as on date. Learned counsel further submits that the present writ petition may be disposed of directing the Respondent No. 2, i.e., the District Magistrate, Patna to consider the application for arms license made by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law if not already disposed of.

5. Having regard to the above made submissions,

Patna High Court CWJC No.5061 of 2025(2) dt.31-10-2025 3/3 without going into the merits or demerits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission with the consent of both the parties. The Respondent No. 2, i.e., the District Magistrate, Patna is directed to consider the application bearing no. 58979 dated 29.11.2024 made by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order if not already disposed of. Any order passed shall be communicated to the petitioner.

6. With the above direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
