JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 29-03-2023 Though the present writ petition has been filed for issuance of direction upon the respondents to grant arms licence to the petitioner, for which the petitioner had applied in the year 2011, before the District Magistrate, Patna, however, considering the fact that the new Arms Rules, 2016 have come into force, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to file a fresh application for grant of arms license, after completing the requisite formalities, as prescribed under the Arms Rules, 2016, nonetheless, seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the same within a fixed time frame.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off, however, with liberty to the petitioner to file fresh

Patna High Court CWJC No.16459 of 2016(4) dt.29-03-2023 2/2 application for grant of arms license, after complying with the requisite formalities, as prescribed in the new Arms Rules, 2016 and in case such an application is filed, within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be disposed off, in accordance with law, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, within a period of six weeks, thereafter.
