The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Sherghati (Dhobhi) P.S. Case No. 612 of 2019 (Excise Case No. 2254 of 2019) for the offence registered under Section 30(d) of the Bihar Excise Prohibition Act, 2016. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in connection with the present case. It is further submitted that name of the petitioner has surfaced on the basis of the confessional statement made before the police by coaccused Arvind Yadav, which has no evidentiary value.
