The petitioner, who is in custody since 25.02.2020, seeks regular bail in connection with Shekhopur Sarai P.S. Case No. 14 of 2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 302, 307, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. In compliance of the order dated 10.12.2021, the trial court vide its Letter No. 42/2021 dated 22.12.2021 has reported that the trial will be concluded within a period of next six

Considering the progress in the trial, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this stage. The trial court is directed to conclude the trial expeditiously within the aforesaid period from the date of communication to this Court and also taking into consideration that the co-accused namely Anil Paswan has been granted regular bail by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court and four others namely Prince Paswan, Nitish Paswan, Vivek Paswan and Minta Devi have been granted anticipatory bail.
If no substantial progress takes place in the trial within the aforesaid period, the petitioner, if so advised, may renew his prayer for bail after the aforesaid period. Accordingly, the present bail application is dismissed. (Purnendu Singh, J) mantreshwar/- U T
