The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered under sections 384 and 386 IPC.
The Block Development Officer alleged that he received a call from mobile No.918406807015. The caller demanded Rs.10 lacs as extortion and asked the informant to come near Maniari Kazi Inda to hand over the money, failing which one member of his family would be killed. It is submitted that the petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. His name figured in the confessional statement of one Pappu Kumar. It is further submitted that the petitioner is not, at all, related with Pappu Kumar and his brother. It appears that on the basis of call detail, Pappu Kumar was apprehended and he had called the Block Development Officer and had demanded extortion money. Pappu Kumar disclosed the name of the petitioner. It is a case of demand of extortion from the Block Development Officer.
Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.34972 of 2014 (2) dt.13-03-2015 In view of the facts stated and the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on anticipatory bail and accordingly, the same is rejected.
