JUSTICE ARUN KUMAR ORAL ORDER 09-02-2018 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the State.

This is a petition for grant of regular bail for offences under Sections 8 and 20(b)(ii)(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Allegation, in brief, is that 23.5 Kg of ganja was apprehended from the vehicle.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the driver of the vehicle escaped away and it was carried away by the driver.

Having considered the recovery from the possession of the petitioner, the prayer for bail for the present is refused. However, the petitioner may renew the prayer for bail, if trial is not concluded within a year after framing of the charge.
