JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 27-06-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1. That this application is being filed for issuance of appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents to grant license of pistol in favour of petitioner for protection of his life and properties."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the Respondent No. 2 i.e. the District Magistrate, Madhepura, to dispose of the application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license on 20.5.2022.

Patna High Court CWJC No.5527 of 2024(2) dt.27-06-2024 2/2 Per contra, the learned counsel for the Respondent-State submits that in case, the petitioner has filed an application for grant of arms license and the same is still pending, it shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the Respondent No. 2 to consider the application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, within a period of four weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
