The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Mirganj P.S. Case No. 19/2015 dated 14.03.2015 instituted for the offences under Sections 419, 420, 409, 384, 386 and 387 of the Indian Penal Code.

Some unknown persons, claiming themselves to be motor vehicle inspectors, stopped the truck of the informant and started unloading the stone chips. The miscreants also demanded money from the informant and others for plying overloaded trucks. However, with the arrival of the police, the accused person fled away. One of the accused persons, viz. Angad was apprehended at the spot and he is said to have disclosed the name of the petitioner.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.49157 of 2017 (3) dt.04-01-2018 2/2 Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that Angad has been granted bail by a Bench of this Court. It has further been submitted that except the confession of a co-accused, Angad, there is no material against the petitioner. Nothing has been recovered from the possession of the petitioner. The petitioner is in custody since 12.04.2017 and in the two cases, in which he had earlier been made accused, he has been granted bail.

One of the co-accused persons, viz. Sonu Singh, has been granted anticipatory bail by a Bench of this Court. Regard being had to the aforesaid facts, the petitioner above named is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Purnea in connection with Mirganj P.S. Case No. 19/2015.
