The petitioner has filed the present writ application for issuance of an appropriate writ/order/direction commanding the respondents to grant arms licence of a Double Barrel gun to the petitioner which was already granted to the father of the petitioner earlier vide Licence No. 287/Madhuban of 1975 in order to protect life and liberty of their family from the threats of Maoist and Naxalist.

An application for arms licence has been filed vide Annexure-1 to the present application and the same is pending

Patna High Court CWJC No.6029 of 2019(2) dt.28-03-2019 2/2 till date. It is further contended that an application under Rule 25 of the Arms Rules, 2016 was also filed by the father of the petitioner for transferring the same to the petitioner but the same is also pending. Subsequently, after filing the said application under Rule 25 of the Arms Rules, 2016, the father of the petitioner died.

Considering the same, respondent no. 2 (the District Arms Magistrate, East Champaran) is directed to dispose of the said application filed on behalf of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of four months from the date of receipt/production of this order.

With the aforesaid observation/direction, the present writ application stands disposed of.
