The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Chausa P.S. Case No. 217/2016 dated 01.12.2016 instituted for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 149, 341, 323, 385, 307, 387, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 27 of the Arms Act.

The petitioner along with 11 others is alleged to have gone to the field of the informant and resorted to firing, which did not hit any one. It has been alleged that the petitioner demanded protection/extortion money from the informant. The petitioner is in custody since 03.12.2016 in the present case.

Though there are 20 cases against the petitioner, but

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.56894 of 2017 (2) dt.05-12-2017 2/2 about four of them seem to have been registered on the same date, i.e. 29.12.2016. The other cases lodged against the petitioner are of the years ranging from 2000 to 2007.

Regard being had to the aforesaid facts, the petitioner above named is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Dua-Kishunganj, Madhepura in connection with Chausa P.S. Case No. 217/2016.
