The petitioner in the present case is the daughter-inlaw of the deceased Home Guard who died in harness on 08.01.2017. Earlier, the grandson of the deceased employee had applied for appointment on compassionate ground but the same was rejected vide order contained in Memo No. 816 dated 24.05.2022 (Annexure '6' to the writ application) on the ground that a grandson would not be eligible for consideration. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that from Annexure '6' itself it would appear that a daughter-in-law may be considered for appointment on compassionate ground. Mr. Ruchikar Jha, learned AC to SC-8 submits that

Patna High Court CWJC No.5254 of 2023(2) dt.03-05-2023 2/2 earlier the application was submitted by grandson which has been rejected but a daughter-in-law may be considered in terms of the Government's Policy.

Having regard to the aforementioned facts and circumstances and the submissions advanced on behalf of the parties, this Court directs respondent nos. 3 and 4 to consider the application of the petitioner as per Government's Policy and take a decision thereon within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
