The present petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs :- "(i) For issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing and commanding the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment on the post of Chowkidar, (who was earlier appointed on 13.07.1993 on the said post of Chowkidar and continuously discharged his duty upto February, 2001) as the respondents are going to appoint the Choukidar in the district of Jehanabad.

(ii) For issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing and commanding the respondents to pay arrear of salary of the

Patna High Court CWJC No.12138 of 2015(2) dt.25-08-2023 2/2 petitioner which is due from July 1993 upto February, 2001. "

At the outset, the learned counsel for the respondent- State has submitted that there is no scheme of compassionate employment in lieu of death/ retirement of a Chowkidar, hence, the present writ petition is devoid of any merit.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed.
