2. By filing this application, the petitioners are seeking extension of the period for which they have been released on bail and obtain order of the Appellate Court by presenting an appeal before the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.18460 of 2025(2) dt.22-03-2025 2/3 matter of the judgment and order dated 24.01.2025 passed by this Court in Cr. Appeal (DB) No. 509 of 2024.

3. Petitioner no. 1 has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 324 IPC. Petitioner Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 are convicted under Section 324/149 IPC. They have been ordered to undergo a sentence of two years simple imprisonment with a fine of Rs.25,000/-. In default of payment of fine, they shall undergo an additional sentence of six months simple imprisonment.

4. It would appear from the order dated 24.01.2025 passed in Cr. Appeal (DB) No. 509 of 2024 that by way of an interim relief, this Court directed for release of the petitioners on their personal bond for a period of two months from the said date in order to afford them sufficient time to present an appeal and obtain orders of the Appellate Court.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the period of two months would be expiring on 24th March, 2025. During this period, the petitioners have taken steps to prefer a special leave petition before the Hon'ble Supreme Court, however, the filing could not take place till date. It is submitted that in the week beginning from 24th March, 2025, special leave petition would be presented/filed in the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.18460 of 2025(2) dt.22-03-2025 3/3 It is submitted that in the interest of justice, the period of bail allowed to the petitioners may be extended by another four weeks.

6. Learned APP for the State submits that this Court may pass an appropriate order as it deems just and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.

7. Having regard to the kind of prayer made before this Court, we are of the opinion that in the interest of justice, the period of bail allowed to the petitioners may be extended by another four weeks in order to enable them to take appropriate steps before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

8. Accordingly, we extend the period fixed in paragraph '7' of the order dated 24.01.2025 by another four weeks. Rest of the order shall remain intact.
