JUSTICE RAVI RANJAN ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 29-09-2015 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the State. It is contended on behalf of the petitioner that his application for grant of arms licence is pending since 21.05.2014 but no decision has been taken by the licensing authority as yet. Surprisingly, though a counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the respondent nos.3 to 5 but no counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the District Magistrate who happens to be the licensing authority explaining as to why no decision could be taken upon the application of the petitioner. In the counter affidavit it has been stated that the Senior Superintendent of Police has already

In above view of the matter, this writ application is being disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Patna to take a decision upon the application of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
