JUSTICE SANJEEV PRAKASH SHARMA ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 20-04-2023 The petitioner, by way of filing the present writ petition, prays as under:- "(i) To issue an appropriate order/s direction/s including a writ preferably in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing upon the respondents to restore the electric connection of the petitioner wrongly and illegally disconnected since 2016 vide Consumer NO. 104000050364/ BL 631 Consumer I.D. NO. 4630500004/ ME 50634.

(ii) To direct the respondents to make

Patna High Court CWJC No.5061 of 2023 dt.20-04-2023 2/2 necessary correction in electric bill and thereafter issue fresh and final bill after deducting delayed payment surcharge (DPS in short) taking into consideration that the petitioner has paid bill in question under the time settlement scheme in the year 15-06-2006. (iii) To any other relief/s to which the petitioner is entitled in the facts and circumstances of the case."

2. Since, an alternative remedy is available to the petitioner to approach the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum, formed under Section 42(5) of the Electricity Act, which is functioning in the State of Bihar, the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the said forum for redressal of his grievance. If such an application is moved, the concerned forum shall decide the same expeditiously within a period of thirty days of its filing.

3. Granting such liberty to the petitioner, the present application is dismissed.
