1. Heard learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner and learned Counsel for the State.

2. The petitioner has filed the present writ application for a direction to the Registrar, Birth and Death, Nagar Parishad, Nalanda, at Biharsharif, to correct the date of birth of the petitioner recorded in the records of Nagar Parishad, Nalanda, at Biharsharif, from 25.12.2000 to 01.02.2002.

3. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was born on 01.02.2002 at Nalanda, but his date of birth has wrongly been recorded as 25.12.2000 at

Patna High Court CWJC No.4994 of 2025(2) dt.25-08-2025 2/3 the behest of the middleman, who was told to complete the formalities by mother of the petitioner, who is a pardanasi lady, to get the date of birth of the petitioner registered at the time of his birth. The father of the petitioner is residing in Kuwait since long and he was not present at the time of birth of the petitioner at Nalanda. All the educational certificate of the petitioner records the date of birth as 01.02.2002. However, the minor passport of the petitioner was prepared with the incorrect date of birth of the petitioner as 25.12.2000. The petitioner is intending to go to Russia for pursuing medical course and the petitioner, being a sincere citizen, wants to get his date of birth corrected in the passport from 25.12.2000 to 01.02.2002 in order to avoid any future complications.

4. Learned Senior Counsel proposes to file a representation before the Registrar, Birth and Death, Nagar Parishad, Nalanda, at Biharsharif, by 01st September, 2025 and he may be directed to dispose the representation of the petitioner at the earliest.

5. Learned Counsel for the State submits that the Registrar, Birth and Death, Nagar Parishad, Nalanda, at Biharsharif, may be directed to dispose the representation of the

6. Having considered the submissions advanced on behalf of the parties and the nature of prayer made in this writ application, the petitioner is given liberty to file a representation before the Registrar, Birth and Death, Nagar Parishad, Nalanda, at Biharsharif, by 01.09.2025 and if such a representation is filed, the Registrar, Birth and Death, Nagar Parishad, Nalanda, at Biharsharif, is directed to dispose the same in accordance with law and by a speaking order within a period of one month from the date of filing of the representation.

7. With the aforesaid observation and direction, this writ application is disposed.
