To issue an order/orders, direction/directions, writ/writs in the nature of mandamus commanding upon the Respondents concerned to get renewed the license of the revolver No. FG-13425, which is registered in the name of the Petitioner under the provision of Rule 24 of the Arms Rules, 2016 whereby the renewing authority is empowered to renew the same within a period of thirty days of the receipt of the police report and in this regard the report has already been issued on 11.08.2022 from the

Patna High Court CWJC No.5540 of 2024(2) dt.27-06-2024 2/3 office of the Superintendent of Police, Vaishali at Hajipur as contained in the Annexure-P5.

(b). To issue an order/orders, direction/directions, writ/writs in the nature of mandamus commanding upon the respondents concerned to get dispose of the representation as so represented by the Petitioner is said to be in endanger and the same has come in the police report also."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the Respondent No. 3 i.e. the District Magistrate, Vaishali at Hajipur, to dispose of the application, filed by the petitioner, for renewal of arms license on 7.12.2021. Per contra, the learned counsel for the Respondent-State submits that in case, the petitioner has filed an application for renewal of arms license and the same is still pending, it shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the Respondent No. 3 to consider the application, filed by the petitioner, for renewal of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, within a period of four weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off on the
