Petitioner has approached this Court for renewal of his firearm licence.

However, counter affidavit filed on behalf of the State discloses that the licence of the petitioner has already been cancelled under Section 17(d) of the Arms Act, 1959 by the licensing authority. Accordingly, this writ application is being disposed with a liberty to the petitioner to approach the statutory appellate authority against such order, if he is so advised, as no direction for renewal of licence can be given since his licence has already been cancelled.
