1. In reply to the writ petition, it has been stated that after the publication of the gradation list the meeting of the District Promotion Committee was required to be conducted for granting promotion. However, the same was postponed at the relevant time. It is however stated that the Promotion Committee meeting shall be held after expiry of the code of conduct and the petitioner's case shall be considered for grant of regular pay scale. The reply was filed in 2017.
2. This Court expects that the Promotion Committee must have passed suitable orders by now.

3. However, if the same has not been done, the exercise shall be conducted positively within a period of three months, failing which the petitioner would be free to initiate contempt proceeding.
4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with aforesaid observations.
