The petitioner is seeking quashing of a letter dated 29.09.2020 issued by the Block Development Officer, Bachhwara, in the district of Begusarai, in pursuance of a letter dated 28.08.2020 of the Deputy Development Officer-cumCertificate Officer, Begusarai, whereby the petitioner has been asked to deposit a sum of Rs.2,97,345.00, being the value of the food grains, which was supplied to the petitioner as P.D.S. dealer that had remained undistributed to the beneficiaries.

Patna High Court CWJC No.9310 of 2021(3) dt.22-02-2022 2/2 It does not appear from the pleadings on record whether any certificate proceeding has been initiated against the petitioner. If, according to the petitioner, the demand, which is being made, is not genuine, he shall be at liberty to raise the issue before the said Block Development Officer. We do not find any reason to interfere at this stage.

This writ application thus stands disposed of with the aforesaid observation and liberty.
