The present writ petition has been filed seeking quashing of the order dated 04.02.2010 passed by the District Magistrate, Madhubani as also the order dated 19.03.2014 passed by the Commissioner, Darbhanga Division, Darbhanga in Service Appeal No. 57 of 2009-10, whereby and whereunder the punishment of stoppage of one annual increment without cumulative effect, has been upheld.

At the outset, the learned counsel for the

Patna High Court CWJC No.19258 of 2014 dt.03-08-2023 2/2 petitioner has submitted that though with the efflux of time the effect of the punishment order has already dissipated, however, the same has the effect of casting a stigma upon the petitioner herein, thus in case the stigma is removed, the petitioner would be satisfied.

3.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner and not vehemently opposed by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, this Court deems it fit and proper to hold that since the punishment order dated 04.02.2010 passed by the District Magistrate, Madhubani has already lost its efficacy, the same would not have any stigmatic effect on the future career of the petitioner. 4.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off as not pressed.
