Petitioner has approached this Court for a direction to the respondents to consider his case for appointment on compassionate grounds. The petitioner's case is that his father Basant Paswan died in harness on 28.08.2012 when he was working as a labourer in the respondent-Corporation. Annexure 4 is the representation of the petitioner which is dated 06.06.2014. Counsel for the respondent-Corporation submits that the application should have been made before the General Manager of the Corporation and not to the Branch Manager as has

Be that as it may, since the petitioner's entitlement to compassionate appointment has to be considered in light of the scheme prevalent in the Corporation, there would be no useful purpose in keeping the writ petition pending. Let the General Manager (respondent No 3) consider the petitioner's claim for appointment on compassionate ground in light of his application dated 06.06.2014 (Annexure 4 of the writ petition) in accordance with the prevalent scheme for appointment and in accordance with law expeditiously and preferably within eight weeks from today.

With this observation and direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
