Petitioner apprehends arrest in case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 120B, 66(C) and 66(D) of the Indian Penal Code.

As per prosecution case, Rs. 87,00,000/- (eighty seven lakhs) was withdrawn on the basis of encashment of cloned cheques. The name of the petitioner transpired during course of investigation.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and he has been made accused only on the basis of confessional statement of co-accused which has got no evidentiary value.

No.24457 of 2023(2) dt.07-07-2023 2/2 Learned counsel for the Economic Offence Wing opposes the prayer for bail application and submits that it is a case of illegal withdrawal of huge quantity of money from the government exchequer. During investigation, sufficient evidence has come against the petitioner and he has got seven criminal antecedents.

In view of the serious allegations levelled against the petitioner and his criminal antecedents having been involved in such type of crime, this Court is not inclined to grant him anticipatory bail.

This application is, accordingly, rejected.
