2. The petitioners have approached this Court for a direction to the respondent authorities to promote them to the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police from the post of Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Police, on which post they are serving the department.

3. It is the case of the petitioners that they were appointed as Constables in the year 1984-86 respectively and passed the PTC examination successfully. They were promoted to the post of Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Police in the year 2014. Some of the juniors to the petitioners have been promoted to the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police in the year 2018, bypassing the rightful claim of the petitioners. The representation filed by the petitioners has also gone absolutely unheeded.

4. Under the aforesaid circumstances and as has been prayed on behalf of the petitioners, the petitioners are directed to make a fresh representation before the Director General of Police, Bihar, Patna, detailing their grievances within a period of four weeks from today, who, on receipt of the same, shall pass a reasoned order after verifying the
