2. The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Khirhar P.S. Case No. 01 of 2013 for the offence under Sections 341, 323, 379, 498(A) and 506 of the I.P.C. lodged on 06.01.2013 by the informant, Sushma Devi.

3. As per the prosecution story, the informant alleged that her husband and brother-in-law assaulted her and she was also ousted from her in-laws' house for want of dowry. Accordingly, the FIR.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he is brother-in-law and has no role to play in the alleged dispute between the couple.

5. Learned APP, Mr. Jitendra Kumar Singh on the other hand pointed out that the FIR was lodged in the year 2013,

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.27439 of 2024(2) dt.21-05-2024 2/2 charge-sheet submitted and the bailable warrant issued against the petitioner in the year 2016, he has come to this Court after eight years.

6. Taking into account, the inordinate delay in approaching the Court, the anticipatory bail application stands rejected.

7. However, if the petitioner surrenders within four weeks from today, the Court concerned shall take up the matter considering the fact that he is brother-in-law and dispose of the same preferably on the same day.
