The licence of the father of petitioner was suspended under Section 28 of the Bihar Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016, for the reason of his having become an accused in a criminal case involving breach of Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
Before subsequent notice could be served upon the licencee, the licencee died. However, the petitioner, who
Patna High Court CWJC No.5977 of 2022(2) dt.28-07-2022 2/2 is the son of the licencee, has responded to the aforesaid notice but no decision has yet been taken even though such decision is required to be taken by the authority within a period of 180 days as far as possible.
In the afore-noted background facts, this Court only directs that the final decision in the matter be taken as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 180 days from the date of receipt/production of a copy this order.
With the aforesaid direction/observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
