NILU AGRAWAL ORAL ORDER 03-04-2019 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned counsel for the State as well as learned counsel for the Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Gaya (hereinafter referred to as 'the University').

Petitioner in the present writ application has prayed for payment of 12.5% compound interest, group insurance in the light of the order passed by this Court in the case of Professor Surendra Bahadur Singh vrs. State of Bihar since reported in 2006 (4) PLJR 369.

It has been submitted that the petitioner retired as Professor from the University with effect from 31.07.2016 and has received his GPF amount but not @ 12.5% compound

Patna High Court CWJC No.6647 of 2019(2) dt.03-04-2019 2/2 interest. He submits that his group insurance has been paid to the tune of Rs.86,860/- without calculating 12.5% compound interest which he is entitled. In this regard, he has already represented before the Registrar, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Gaya which is Annexure-2 dated 28.04.2018 which has not been disposed of.

Considering the nature of claim made by the petitioner, this application is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.4, The Registrar, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Gaya to dispose of the representation of the petitioner as contained in Annexure-2 dasted 28.04.2018 in the light of the order passed in the case of Professor Surendra Bahadur Singh (supra) which has been affirmed by the Hon'ble Apex Court in SLP No.29261-29264 and also by the Division Bench of this Court in LPA No.1253 of 2016 in its order dated 11.01.2018, within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of the copy of this order.
