2. The petitioner apprehends her arrest in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per prosecution case, the informant has stated that one Satish Kumar, Senior Assistant in L.I.C., Muzaffarpur, who was posted in Branch No. 1 of Muzaffarpur Office from 22.02.2010 till 31.01.2015 committed fraud and forgery in connivance with some outsiders and illegally withdrew 15 lakh rupees of L.I.C.. During enquiry, 40 fraudulent transactions came to light. It has also been alleged that Satish Kumar conspired with six fraudulent beneficiaries and transferred money in their account fraudulently and dishonestly.
4. It is submitted by learned counsel appearing on
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.27446 of 2024(3) dt.24-06-2024 2/3 behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is quite innocent and has committed no offence. It is next submitted that the petitioner has got no concern with the alleged occurrence and she has been made an accused in this case merely because she happens to be wife of co-accused Satish Kumar. It is further submitted that petitioner is lady and has got no criminal antecedents.

On the other hand, learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently opposed the prayer for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner and submitted that modus operandi of the fraud was to book the accidental death claim giving wrong cause of death as road accident, and after payment of the basic death claim, the beneficiaries were changed and the claim amount was siphoned off. It is further submitted that this fraudulent transaction was prepared by co-accused Satish Kumar who was an LI.C. employee in 12 accident claim cases, 27 salary saving scheme matters and money back benefit matters in connivance with this petitioner and some other accused persons. It is further submitted that petitioner was found actively involved in the 40 illegal transactions through which a total of Rs. 15,52,743.20/- was misappropriated.
6. Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances and nature of accusation, the prayer for grant of anticipatory bail
