The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Naugachia P.S. Case No.180 of 2016/G.R. No.1122 of 2016 registered under Sections 385/506 and, later on, added Sections 386, 467, 474, 420 and 201/34 of the Indian Penal Code besides Sections 66(i) of the I.T. Act.

The accusation is of making the demand of ransom of Rs.5,00,000/- from the informant on his mobile through Mobile No.7632082167 Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. In course of

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.126 of 2017 (2) dt.11-01-2017 2/2 investigation, it has been detected that the Mobile No.7632082167 was in the name of one Sitaram Yadav, who on being apprehended confessed his guilt of making demand of ransom from the informant and also disclosed the name of the petitioner as his associate. Thereafter, the police also got recorded the confessional statement of the petitioner showing his involvement in the commission of the alleged offence. Except the confessional statement of the co-accused and this petitioner, there is nothing against the petitioner to show his involvement in the commission of the alleged offence. Further submission is that the petitioner having no criminal antecedent is in custody since 16.10.2016.

Having regard to the facts and the circumstances of the case, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/-(Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Naugachia, Bhagalpur, in connection with Naugachia P.S. Case No.180 of 2016/G.R. No.1122 of 2016.
