This application for grant of regular bail arises out of Complaint Case No.136(O)/2020, registered for the offence punishable under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

It appears from the First Information Report that the police recovered 222.480 liters of illicit India Made Foreign Liquor from a pick-up van, which was being driven by the petitioner. It appears that the said illicit liquor was found meticulously concealed in the vehicle.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 13.02.2020. and also contended that he has no criminal antecedent. Be that as it may, considering the quantity of illicit

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.20900 of 2020(3) dt.25-06-2020 2/2 liquor said to have been recovered from a vehicle, which the petitioner was driving, I am not inclined to grant the petitioner privilege of regular bail for the present.

This application is accordingly rejected.

However, the petitioner shall be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after six months, if there is no progress in the trial.
