The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1. That this is an application for issuance of a direction /directions, writ or writs, to the respondent authorities to consider the grievance of petitioner for grant of promotion/ senior selection grade to the post of Head Foreman and for which petitioner has filed representations and be further pleased to grant such other relief or reliefs to which petitioner is found entitled in the eyes of law."

At the outset, the learned senior counsel for the respondents has submitted that the petitioner was employed in the services of the respondents on 11.06.1962 and lastly he was promoted to the post of Head Foreman vide notification dated 11.03.1981, whereafter he retired in the year 1997, however, the present writ petition has been filed belatedly in the year 2015 after a lapse of 18 years, hence the same is barred by the principles of delay and laches. It is also submitted that the petitioner has not been able to demonstrate regarding any person junior to him having been granted promotion, hence the present writ petition is devoid of any merit.

The aforesaid aspect of the matter stands unrebutted by the petitioner, hence I do not find any merit in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed.
