The accused had sought time for producing defence evidence and in spite of being granted time at many occasions, they did not do that. Lastly, they filed a petition that they were advised to approach this Court and they were to obtain a stay order from this Court. The trial court has mentioned these facts in its order dated 18.8.2012 and granted time fixing 5.9.2012. Obviously, the petition was filed on 19.10.2012 which has been listed for the first time before this Bench. I could safely presume that the trial has ended in either of the ways.

The petition appears of no merit for the reasons assigned above and
