The allegation in the First Information Report is of forging the signature of the informant, who at the relevant point of time was posted as Circle Officer, Karakat for the purpose of grant of STC loan.

The allegations in the F.I.R. constitute cognizable offence. No ground for quashing of the F.I.R. is made out in exercise of power under section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This application is, accordingly, dismissed.
