2. The grievance of the petitioner is in limited bound to the extent of expeditious disposal of service appeal which has been preferred against the order of punishment dated 18.02.2016.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner contended that on account of alleged misappropriation of Government money, the petitioner was subjected to departmental proceeding which finally culminated with the punishment of withholding of two increments with non-cumulative effect vide Memo No. 797 dated 18.02.2016. Aggrieved with the aforesaid order, the

Patna High Court CWJC No.6483 of 2025(2) dt.29-04-2025 2/2 petitioner preferred appeal on 11.01.2016. When no order came to be passed on the appeal, aforenoted, time and again representations were also filed to apprise the appellate authority regarding pendency of the appeal, but to no avail, compelling the petitioner to approach this Court.

This Court is surprised to see that the appeal preferred by the petitioner against the order of punishment kept pending since 11.03.2016, before the appellate authority, hence left with no option, direct the Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, Patna to look into the matter and dispose off the appeal of the petitioner preferably within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, in accordance with law.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction.
