The limited grievance of the petitioner is that his application for grant of arms licence under the provisions of the Arms Act, 1959 is pending before the District Magistrate, Gaya. Mr. Bipin Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the application was filed before the District Magistrate, Gaya complete in all respect as back as on 24.4.2010 and despite recommendations having received the matter remains pending before the Licensing Authority. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking note of the nature of grievance raised as well as the fact that the application was filed as back as in 2010 the writ petition

Patna High Court CWJC No.273 of 2015 (2) dt.12-02-2015 is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Gaya to consider and dispose of the application of the petitioner for grant of arms licence in accordance with law expeditiously and preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
