The husband of the petitioner superannuated on 30.09.2012 as 'Meth' from the office of the Executive Engineer, Triveni Canal Division; soon after the retirement, the husband of the petitioner died on 24.12.2012. Despite the aforesaid fact of superannuation and his death, when the petitioner has not been accorded family pension and the arrears thereof, she approached this Court in CWJC No. 14800 of 2022. Patna High Court CWJC No.6127 of 2024 dt.12-02-2025 2/3 vide order dated 18.01.2023, has disposed of the writ petition granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the authority concerned within 6 weeks by filing a representation which was directed to be disposed of within a period of four weeks.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that despite the fact that the petitioner is entitled for arrears of pension/family pension to the tune of Rs. 16,38,455/-, she was paid only an amount of Rs. 10,58,907/- and thereafter on 19.06.2023, she has also been paid Rs. 1,02,264/-. It is the contention of the petitioner that till date an amount of Rs. 4,77,244/- is due with the bank. The petitioner is a widow and in absence of calculation chart she is unable to verify the same.

4. Learned Advocate for the Punjab National Bank submits at the bar that if the petitioner will approach before the concerned authority, the calculation chart shall be furnished and her grievance shall be looked into.

In view of the fair submissions made by learned Advocate for the Bank, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent no. 6 to consider the representation of the petitioner, the copy of which is marked as AnnexureP13/1, and after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner by furnishing the statement of account, dispose of her

Patna High Court CWJC No.6127 of 2024 dt.12-02-2025 3/3 claim and ensure payment of the admissible amount preferably within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, in accordance with law.

6. The writ petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction.
