1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1.(a) To issue a writ of Certiorari for quashing the Memo No.1365 dated 22.12.2020, issued by the
Patna High Court CWJC No.11008 of 2021(2) dt.18-01-2024 2/2 District Magistrate, Saran at Chapra, through which appointment have been done by him, dehors the rules and in illegal manner, on the vacant posts of executive assistants in the office of Executive Enginner, Electricity Supply Division, Chapra (West), for appointment on which names of petitioners and others were sent as per Roster and position in merit list.
(b) To issue a writ of Mandamus commanding the respondents to follow their own decisions and to appoint the petitioners on the post of executive assistants in the office of Executive Enginner, Electricity Supply Division, Chapra (West), for which their names were sent as per Roster and position in merit list or, any other similar posts of executive assistant in any other department also under Collectorate, Chapra on the basis of requisitions sent by said department to fill up the vacancies."
2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioners seeks not to press the present writ petition, however, seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioners to approach the respondent-authorities for redressal of their aforesaid grievances. Liberty so sought is granted.
