A report was called for from the court below regarding the stage of the case. It has been reported that out of 11 prosecution witnesses, one witness has already been examined and the trial is likely to be concluded within a period of three months.

Considering the nature of accusation and the stage of the case, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The same is rejected in connection with NDPS Case No. 44/2017, arising out of NCB/PZU/Cr. No. 11/2017, pending in the court of learned Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, Gaya. The court below is directed to take all necessary steps to conclude the trial preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order.
