The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Sessions Trial No. 336 of 2018 arising out of Konch P.S. Case No. 200 of 2017, dated 10.12.2017, instituted for the offences under Sections 304(B) and 201/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Regard being had to the nature of accusation against the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail to him for the present.

However, taking into account the fact that the petitioner is in custody since 04.05.2018 and charges in this case has already been framed, this Court directs the Trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same within a period of nine months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

If there is no substantial progress in the disposal of the trial within the aforesaid period, the petitioner would be at liberty to approach the Trial Court for grant of bail. In that event, the Trial Court would be required to state the reason for the tardy pace of the trial and non-conclusion of the same within the aforesaid period.

With the aforesaid observation/direction, the application stands disposed off.
