The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Excise Case No. 837 of 2017 arising out of Barbigha P.S. Case No. 629 of 2017 registered for offences under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that similarly situated accused persons, namely, Purshottam Singh @ Purshottam Kumar, Rustam Singh @ Rustam Kumar, Amit Kumar and Karu Singh, have been granted anticipatory bail by a coordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 13.04.2018 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 21441 of 2018.
