The petitioner apprehends her arrest in connection with Choutarwa P. S. Case No. 10 of 2017 instituted under Sections 304B/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3⁄4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

The allegation, in brief, is that this petitioner (motherin-law) along with father-in-law and husband of the daughter of the informant have killed the deceased within five years of marriage, as further demand of dowry was not fulfilled by the informant and after killing, the dead body was disposed of. It is submitted that the son and husband of the petitioner, both are in custody and she is the mother-in-law and there is no specific allegation against her.
