2. The petitioner has moved the Court for the following relief:

"That this writ application is being filed on behalf of the petitioner above named for issuance of an appropriate writ, order and direction to the respondents to consider the name of the petitioner and to issue P.D.S. licence on compassionate ground in the name of the petitioner and till final order not to issue any P.D.S. licence to another on place of the petitioner."

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he had applied for grant of PDS licence on the ground that it was issued to his grandfather who has died.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that such application has been filed under Rule 10 of the Bihar Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Control Order, 2016') on 13.12.2017, but the same has still not been disposed off.

5. Learned counsel for the State submitted that the application filed by the petitioner is required to be disposed off.

6. Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case and submissions of learned counsel for the parties, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the respondent no. 2 to take a final decision with regard to the application filed by the petitioner under Rule 10 of the Control Order, 2016 for issuance of licence on compassionate ground, if already not so done, expeditiously and latest within a period of two months from the date of production of a copy of this order before him.
