The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Sahebganj P.S. Case No. 273 of 2017, dated 25.07.2017, instituted for the offences under Sections 304(B) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Regard being had to the nature of accusation

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.21738 of 2020(4) dt.12-10-2020 2/2 against the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail to him for the present.

The prayer for grant of bail is, accordingly, rejected.

However, taking into account the fact that the petitioner has remained in custody since 15.09.2019, this Court directs the Trial Court to conclude the trial proceedings as against the petitioner within a period of nine months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. If there is no substantial progress in the disposal of the trial within the aforesaid period, the petitioner would be at liberty to approach the Trial Court for grant of bail. In that event, the Trial Court would be required to state the reason for the tardy pace of the trial and non-conclusion of the same within the aforesaid period.

With the aforesaid observation/direction, the application stands disposed off.
